The Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament) has accepted the government's report on the implementation of the Special Economic Zones Act in 2019.

On Friday, the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament) accepted the government's information on Special Economic Zones (SEZ). At the end of 2019, the zones covered areas located in 186 cities and 311 municipalities, and the average degree of development of the zones was almost 65%. Since their inception, 132 billion PLN has been invested.
On Friday, the Sejm voted on a motion to reject the information. 132 MPs voted in favor of the motion, 231 were against, and 75 abstained. Thus, the Sejm accepted the government's information.
The presentation of information on the implementation of the Special Economic Zone Act to the Sejm, together with a report on budget implementation, is an obligation imposed on the Council of Ministers by Article 26 of the Special Economic Zones Act of October 20, 1994.
At the end of last year, special economic zones covered areas located in 186 cities and 311 municipalities, with a total area of 22,949.5 ha. This is 66 ha more than in 2018, according to government information on SEZs presented in the Sejm on Thursday.
