The extended lockdown will lead to a wave of bankruptcies and mass layoffs. The end of November is the final deadline for the industry, according to the Association of Polish Employers of Trade and Services (ZPPHiU).
“We fully understand the need for preventive measures against the rising wave of infections in our country. However, as employers, we are highly concerned about the prospect of a lockdown extending beyond November 29th. We consider the end of November to be a critical moment for our industry. This date is the final limit for us – a lockdown that lasts longer will have dramatic consequences: a wave of bankruptcies, mass layoffs and a simultaneous lack of revenue for the state budget,” predicts the board of the ZPPHiU.
