EU subsidies in the sights of young entrepreneurs. More than half are interested in this support

More than six out of ten young companies want to look for EU funding for themselves next year. Almost one in six companies do not intend to use such support. Almost one in three entrepreneurs would like to use the funds to launch a new product or service on the market. However, only a slightly smaller group would strengthen themselves technologically by purchasing equipment, new technologies or software.
The survey, conducted by UCE RESEARCH for the IndustryLab Industrial Innovation Accelerator, shows that 61.5% of young companies want to seek funding through EU funds in 2021. Prof. Stanisław Gomułka, chief economist of the BCC and former deputy finance minister, is not surprised by this. The expert points out that such entities are usually quite financially weak and want to grow. Even leaving aside the pandemic, some start-ups go bankrupt, usually at a rate of around 20% per year.
